As I mentioned in class, Chris Marker, along with being a filmmaker, did a lot of other things as well. One of them was being the series editor for Petite Planète, a series of guidebooks published by Edition de Seuil in the 1950s. Others wrote these volumes, but Marker’s influence is all over them in their style and idiosyncrasy. He designed the covers and shaped the innovative layout for the books as well.
